Work is due to start on an essential project to replace water mains in Back Road, Linton.

The project is part of our ongoing improvement programme resulting in the highest water quality and a reliable water supply to our customers. The old water main was replaced in 2020 and this is the final work to disconnect the existing main from the water network.

When is it happening?

Work was due to start in February to complete the final work to disconnect the existing main from the water network, however this was postponed by Cambridge Highways. We now plan to return in the Easter Holidays to complete the works.

Will this affect traffic?

To ensure we complete this work as safely and efficiently as possible, there will be a temporary road closure in place, on the one-way section of Back Road. The road will be closed to traffic from the junction of Coles Lane to the junction of Balsham Road from Monday 29 March 2021 and will be in place for approximately two weeks.
