Ofwat's Final Determination on our 2025-2030 business plan
Posted: 20 December 2024
Over the next five years, from 2025 to 2030, we will deliver our largest-ever investment programme, spending £926 million to protect water supplies, improve our customer service, enhance the environment and safeguard the resilience and health of our infrastructure.
Our plan also importantly ensures that our customer bill increase remains amongst the lowest in the sector, and that our clean water bills will continue to be amongst the lowest in the country.
Our plan also allows the creation of new jobs in our supply chain, with a focus on providing apprenticeship opportunities to welcome more young talent in the sector, as we deliver our investment programme.
Securing future water supplies in an area characterised by population and housing growth is a key focus for us over the next five years, alongside protecting the region’s environment. Our plan enables us to secure resilient water supplies for customers for the long term, with the transfer of water from Anglian Water’s Grafham Reservoir into our region of supply, and planning underway in collaboration with Anglian Water to build the brand new Fens Reservoir. Investment has also been earmarked for protecting the environment, including restoring and enhancing Cambridge’s rare, precious chalk streams.
Charley Maher, CEO at parent company South Staffordshire Plc concluded: "Our investment plan has been carefully built with direct engagement with our customers and stakeholders, and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our decisions have been informed by their views and will have positive impact for them.
"The next five years will bring some truly exciting investment for customers, and we look forward to putting our plans into action.”
